What? Us Offbeat?

The other day it dawned on me that we might truly be an "Offbeat Couple." I truly don't think so. And the fact that I don't think so might be why we're "offbeat."

Some reasons why others think those of us out here in Cali are certainly unique and have urged us to keep it up:

  1. We're having a ceremony at Burning Man.
  2. We're asking our guests to attend wearing costumes inspired by the Joss Whedon's TV series Firefly.
  3. We're thinking of serving Tru Blood Beverage to our Reaver guests so that they won't eat our other guests. (Yes Tru Blood Beverage is from another TV series but it was the closest non-perishable item we could think of to protect our guests.)
  4. We're thinking of serving a signature drink at our San Francisco wedding made with Tru Blood Beverage as a nod to our playa ceremony (the FangBanger - Tru Blood Beverage and Vodka).
Taken out of the context of our community, yes we might be offbeat.

In our community? No one's going to blink an eye. It's your typical day in the life. You know the kind of typical where on a break from working on Syzygryd you would over hear an in-depth discussion of why Inara (my favorite Firefly character) was a stronger character than Deanna Troi (on Star Trek: Next Generation).

Are you planning a wedding that taken out of the context of your community is offbeat? What makes it offbeat?

  1. Hello,

This may be pretty random, but I am Marketing Operations Manager for FMCG Manufacturing, the makers of the Tru Blood beverage. Your wedding site came up in my daily Google Alerts. I see that you are planning on serving Tru Blood drinks to your wedding guests, which is awesome!! I thought I could be of some assistance. We sell Tru Blood wholesale in the following forms: 2 liter, 12oz clear glass bottles, and of course the typical 14oz red branded bottles. For events we often sell the 2 liters or the clear glass, so you don't have to pay for the branded bottles in bulk to make cocktails.

If interested, we can discuss quantities and wholesale cost.

    Please email me at dayna@fmcgmanufacturing.com.
