Happy Birthday: Giveaway!

Last year at this time we stumbled across the perfect wedding venue on our way to dinner. With the Swedish American Hall a go and countless questions coming at us from all directions, A Timeless Affair was born. Now 400 posts later, here we are.

Kick off your heels and pull up your favorite chair; whether your spot is an Eames lounge chair, a retro Joe Baseball Glove sofa,  or something else, get comfy for a minute.

Lately I've started sporting flirty flats - cute without that element of danger heels introduce for a klutz like me.

You could put your prize toward these. I love the zipper detailing. And three of my favorite colors to chose from - Black, Brown, and Purple. If I could, I would take one of each. I think I might have to make due with just a pair in purple.

To enter to win a $35 gift certificate from CSN Stores, leave a comment telling us what your favorite comfort food is (I'm competing in a Chili Cook Off at work next week). If you'd like an additional chance to win, follow @ATimelessAffair and leave another comment with your twitter name. I'll be using random.org to chose a winner at midnight PST next Wednesday, February 16. The winner will be announced on Wednesday.

Good luck and thank you for a wonderful past year!

Resolution for a New Year

Happy New Year!
What are your new year resolutions?
Have you started on them yet?

For 2011, I want to avoid having our living room look like this.
Resolution 1: Get Organized. Stay Organized.
Not planning a wedding should help me keep my first resolution: Get Organized. Stay Organized. Being better about putting everything in its place and having a set place for everything should also help.

Friday, I organized the kitchen and started dealing with the living room closet.

With the closet project, I was able to tackle two areas at the same time - the closet and bedroom. In the closet, I'd been using a shoe rack for additional shelving. The main problem with this? The shoe rack was designed to hold shoes not heavier items such as games.

I ordered an OIA Stackable Storage Rack from Cookware.com - A CSN Store. I liked the price - under $30 - and that it qualified for free shipping. Super easy. No hassle. The shelves snap together easily and are pretty sturdy. In less than 15 minutes, I had the closet storage reorganized and cubes' shoes neatly put away under our bed on the shoe rack. One less obstacle to avoid in the morning!

Be sure to check back tomorrow as I'll be continuing our recaps with "The First Look"!

Coming Soon: CSN Store Review

Many people have asked us what we're going to do now that we're done planning our wedding. The answer is simple. We're going to go back to hosting our friends and family for dinner.

First though we have to get our apartment in order. We moved in last October shortly after we got engaged and put outfitting it on hold until after the wedding. So you can imagine the wish list we have.

Recently CSN Stores contacted me about reviewing an item from one of their stores and I immediately started thinking about our wish list. If you're not familiar with CSN Stores, they have everything you need to make a home from dining room chairs to office chairs, including the Chadwick Chair with Lumbar support from Knoll.

Maybe I should surprise cubes with a chair for his office? (He does so enjoy assembling furniture.) What do you think I should review?
